To ensure that sporting ambition was not neglected amidst all the Zen, the New Year’s Swim was held as a competition in three categories, as in previous years:
- Penguin – fastest time > Winner: Andreas Harting
- Seal – fastest time in a non-compliant manner > Winner: Katrin Eckhold
- Yoda – longest time in the water > Winner: Eva Goeb-Cribb
In addition to the winners, the following were also in the water: Eric Hall, Joachim “Jochen” Rabe, Rolf Hofmann, Jochen Eckhold, Flora Geske, Till A. Kaestner, Sandra Stracke, Tim Stracke,Lena Schmackler, Andreas Schmackler, Michael D. Pilzek and Felix Hummel.
This time, the swim was not only about pushing personal limits but, above all, for a good cause: a total of over €3,000 was raised, which will be donated to HateAid and the Wasserwacht Feldafing.
